Kitchen and Bathroom Fixtures

By ontariodrive

Suzy went to Ferguson this week to select a lot of our Bath and Kitchen Faucets, Toilets, Sinks and shower heads.  That’s a very overwhelming task and like everything we have encountered, they try to upsell you like crazy.  For example, they make a garbage disposal now that you have to find that little black plug that we all have and never use for the sink and screw that into the disposal to enable the motor to turn on.  I will grant you that it sounds like a great safety feature but 1) we would never be able to find it and 2) when we need to disposal, its piled up higher than that opening so we just went with the old 1 hp grinder and a switch.  (Que salesrep to act snooty like we are the Clampets for not buying the upgrade – such is the game, they are paid commissions.

Anyway, Suzy is much better at sticking to a budget than I am, which is why she went alone.  Her is a brief run down of some of her choices (which I love and agree with BTW):

Moen Brandtford in Brushed Nickel for the Kids bathrooms:

Moen Vestige in Oil Rubbed Bronze (“the hottest finish right now”) for the Half Bath Downstairs

Kohler Devonshire Faucet in Brushed Brass for the Master Bathroom

With a shower head that looks linda like this:

and don’t foreget the most popular seat in the house (half Bath – Kohler Devonshire comfort height stool)

For the Kitchen Sink, she choose an Elkay (I keep saying Ummmm, Kayyyy?)  Harmony Undermount sink.

Here is a picture of one installed.  It looks small but is actually deeper and wider than the one we have now:

And Finally, the Moen Aberdeen is the Kitchen Faucet in Brushed Nickel (I think they may call it stainless?)

I think she did an awesome job of making all those decisions!  Thanks for stopping by to share our madness.
