You have unlocked the secret of the Grail….

December 20, 2008

or maybe we just got the temporary keys to the house?  now that we have something of value in there (don’t get excited, I’m talking about the cabinets) our builder is going to start locking the door.  Which means 10 we have a door from the Garage to the house and 2) we got to unlock SAID door this afternoon when we went to do the Saturday morning “hey, what’d they do this week?” walk through.

Of course, the back door was unlocked and standing partially open, so we are not talking about Fort Knox here.

more on the pavers

December 20, 2008

I hope to try to do a litle photo shopping tonight to see what the porches will look like if we use the different types of pavers, but for now, here is what we are weighing:

Paver choices

December 18, 2008

We have to decide which color paver to use on the porches. None match exactly so we are torn trying to decide if we should use the middle one, the best match, or do one of the dark ones that is a completely different color. Originally we had tried to find a frost free tile to use but that seemed like it could get slippery when it got wet. That scared me with all of our kids running on them.

Big Props to Aunt Beth

December 12, 2008

Aunt Beth and Suzy went on a spending Spree today.  Kitchen Counter Tops, Bathroom Counters, Tile, Carpet, a Partridge in a pear tree.  Thanks for the help in kicking us in the bum to get us started!

A Family Visit to the Work Site

December 7, 2008

We went to the House yesterday to check out Frost Free tile to potentially put on the outside porches.  That is a slip and fall waiting to happen.  Anyway, we got some good one s of the family unit to share.  And no, this is not our Christmas Card.

Kitchen Cabinets

I think these turned out awesome.  I especially like the Custom Sink and Faucet you can see in a couple of the Photos:

With the new WordPress interface, I am not as confortable so I am going to drop these into three or four posts.

Look out: Here come the cabinet pictures

Can you tell I am excited?  The house is finally starting to look like a home instead of a structure.  They put a coat of Primer on all of the ceilings and walls so its white instead of sheetrock with mud covering the holes.  Then, the cabinets started getting put in.  Stick with me, there are going to be a lot:

Next, the Keeping Room:

Today’s Cabinet Pictures

December 5, 2008

I dropped by this morning to see what was going on.  The Cabinet guys had said they were going to be done by the end of the day on Thursday, but as you can see, they are not.  It looked like a tall order, but they know their abilities better than I do.

I’m really happy/ excited about what we picked out.  Beth, it really is your kitchen in Greenville.  We are so Original.  Anyway, here are the updates from the Laundry room, half bath and kitchen.

As an aside, the guy in the photo is kinda the foreman of the installation crew.  His niece is Alicia Sacramone.  Which is kinda Cool.
